Follow-up appointments

How often you come for a check-up and what happens each time.

Your appointments

During your pregnancy you will normally come to the surgery between ten and twelve times. Early on that is every five to six weeks; towards the end it is every week. At these appointments your blood pressure and weight are checked and we listen to your baby's heartbeat. Your urine is tested where there is reason to.

The midwife checks that the pregnancy is going without complications. Should complications arise, you will be referred to a gynaecologist or another specialist.
